Detailed description

NCC has signed an agreement with Örkelljunga Municipality to construct a new swimming and bowling centre in Örkelljunga, Sweden. The project will be delivered as a design-and-build contract in collaboration with the municipality, with an order value of approximately SEK 250 million. NCC and the municipality have completed an initial phase involving planning, design and budgeting. The project is now progressing towards construction, which is scheduled to begin in early 2027. The new facility will be located near Ljungaskolan school and integrated with the existing Forum sports hall. The swimming centre will feature a 25-metre pool, a multipurpose pool with an adjustable floor, a children's pool, a warm-water pool and a sauna. The multipurpose pool will support rehabilitation, water aerobics and recreational activities. The bowling centre will include six lanes, spectator seating and an associated café area. Energy efficiency and long-term operating costs have been key considerations during the design phase. The project incorporates optimised water systems, technical installations and durable building materials to support efficient operation and a long service life. The facility is expected to be completed in early 2029. The contract value will be registered under NCC Building Sweden during the fourth quarter of 2026.
