NCC to build 70 km of high-voltage power lines

NCC has signed a construction contract with Svenska kraftnät for the Horred–Breared power transmission project. The project includes the construction of approximately 70 kilometres of new 400 kV overhead power lines between the Breared substation in Halmstad Municipality and the Horred substation in Mark Municipality. The new transmission line will be built along the same power-line corridor as the existing line, which will also be dismantled as part of the project. Horred–Breared is the first construction contract within the Västra Götaland business package previously agreed between NCC and Svenska kraftnät. Planning, design and preparatory works began in 2025. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in spring 2026, when NCC also started certain time-critical works. Following the signing of the construction contract, the project is now moving into full production. The contract value is approximately SEK 1 billion and will be registered by NCC Infrastructure in the third quarter of 2026. Completion is planned for the first half of 2029.
